I. Work on White Book issues. Following the publication of the White Book, FIA has evidenced an increased interest and openness from Moldovan policymakers to work in partnership with private sector counterparts on improving the country's investment climate. In particular, the Government and the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova showed eagerness to work with FIA on solving priority issues from the Book. |

ISSUES
Considering the attraction of foreign investment a vital necessity for the Moldovan economy, the FIA members carried out a preliminary analysis of the business and investment environment in the country, so as to reveal common problems and challenges to be overcome. These problems were further addressed and described in a letter that was handed over to the Vice-Minister of Economy, Mr. Valeriu Lazar, on December 21, 2004. Being in the midst of the election campaign, the Government has yet not initiated an active deliberation of the issues listed in the letter. In change, however, FIA has so far been invited by the Government to join three Commissions/Councils/Working Groups: |
